Spring 2009 Workshop
Brain-Friendly Teaching:
Teach the way the brain best learns through cooperative brain-friendly teaching
Friday 6 March 2009: Urbis, Manchester City Centre
This day long workshop by Dr Spencer Kagan from the USA enabled us to align our teaching with how brains best learn.
During the day we learnt:
- simple brain-friendly Kagan structures that create safety, nourish the brain, generate cooperative interaction, link learning and emotion, make content memorable by targeting the five independent memory systems.
- how to teach smarter using powerful principles derived from brain science
- more about the brain, how to interpret actual brain scans and increase motivation and comprehension, and how to ignite students' natural love for learning
and much more...
If you were unable to attend this workshop we can confirm that Dr Spencer Kagan is running a number of workshop and keynote sessions during the Learning Brain Europe Conference on 21 & 22 May 2009.
Topics include:
- Brain-Friendly Instructions Through Structures: Teaching the way the brain best learns
- Simple Strategies to Implement the 5 Principles of Brain-Friendly Teaching
- Wait! Which Memory System do I want to Engage
- Simple Strategies to Address the Distinct Memory Systems
We hope to see you there.
