Richard Allen, Ph.D., is a highly regarded educator and master trainer with more than 25 years experience coaching teachers. Founder and President of Green Light Education, he is the author of many popular books in the field of education, including: Impact Teaching: Ideas and strategies for teachers to accelerate learning, TrainSmart: Effective Trainings Every Time, Green Light Classrooms; and most recently High-Impact Teaching in the XYZ Era of Education. He has taken his dynamic teaching strategies beyond the United States and Canada, to such diverse countries as the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Russia, Jordan, and Brazil. Dr. Allen is also a popular keynote speaker at international education conferences and works with schools and school districts to embed effective teaching methods into mainstream curriculum.

Dr. Allen first took to the stage as an off-Broadway actor, before starting his educational career as a high-school math and drama teacher. In 1985 he became a lead facilitator for SuperCamp—an accelerated learning program for teens—and has since worked with more than 25,000 students worldwide. Dr. Allen completed his doctorate in educational psychology at Arizona State University, where he studied how the human brain receives, processes, and recalls information—knowledge that informs all aspects of his teaching strategies. Becky A. Bailey, Ph.D., is an award-winning author, renowned teacher and internationally recognized expert in childhood education and developmental psychology. Her workshops touch thousands of lives each year, and her top selling book titles have over 100,000 copies in circulation. Dr. Bailey is the founder of Loving Guidance, Inc., a company dedicated to creating positive environments for children, families, schools and businesses. She is also the developer of the Conscious Discipline© program.

Conscious Discipline© is evidence-based, and was named a national model for character education by the Florida state legislature in 2005. It is a social-emotional program that facilitates early childhood and elementary teachers in creating “school families” where children and teachers can reclaim joy, helpfulness and caring as a foundation for the educational process. Conscious Discipline© assists teachers in developing their inner life, empowering them to transform confl ict into teaching moments for themselves, their colleagues, and the children and families they serve. Research conducted in schools and centers using Conscious Discipline© shows that it decreases aggression, increases academic scores on state tests, decreases impulsivity/hyperactivity in “difficult” children, increases collegiality of staff, and creates a positive school climate.

Dr. Bailey has authored seven books related to guidance and discipline. Her core publication for parents, Easy to Love, Diffi cult to Discipline, has received national acclaim and is published in seven languages. Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline applies the Conscious Discipline© message to the family unit, offering the support and internal changes adults need to effectively parent their children.

In her passion to empower all people, especially those working with our youngest citizens, Dr. Bailey has established the fi rst Early Childhood Education four-year university degree program in the state of Florida. She was also instrumental in establishing a teacher certifi cation program for Native Americans in New Mexico. Dr. Bailey has raised over $2 million for children’s programs over her years in education. She played an integral role in raising funds, building and equipping a preschool in a tsunami-devastated region of Sri Lanka, and sponsored two Sri Lankan teachers to attend the week-long Conscious Discipline© Summer Institute. She recently established a nonprofit organization to provide free training and resources to at-risk families and teachers in memory of her mother, Frances Canipe Bailey.

Elaine Brown is a Teacher Training Consultant and Co-Director of Teacher to Teacher (UK) Ltd. Her experience has spanned a wide range of years, age groups and schools; Head of a 50 place Nursery School and then Assistant Head in a Cheshire Primary School (gaining the NPQH qualification at Manchester University and achieving recognition for research into Effective Early Years Learning with Warwick University). Training began in Brain Based Learning and Cooperative Learning Structures in 2001 which continued yearly thereafter until gaining International Trainer status in 2005. Since then, first, in her capacity of LEA Advisory Teacher in 2003 and now as Co-Director of T2T, Elaine has trained Primary and Secondary Teachers, Students, NQTs, TAs, Lecturers, Advisors, Parents and Governors.

She still continues to actively pursue her own professional development through training, research and study into current educational practices; at present - Personalising Learning and Leadership. Elaine is also a facilitator for the Pacific Institute and a keen member of the Learning Brain Europe committee.

Gavin Clowes has worked in education for eighteen years. During that time he has been an outstanding teacher, mentor and staff trainer with Cheshire County Council in the North West of England. For the past seven years Gavin has been training and facilitating staff development in Kagan Cooperative Learning Structures both as a 'Certified International Kagan Trainer' and as Director of 'Teacher To Teacher (UK) Limited'. Whilst working as a Kagan trainer Gavin has had the privilege to work with colleagues on both sides of the Atlantic from Key Stage 1 to University.

Gavin is also a Kagan Win Win Discipline trainer and as such enjoys the challenge of supporting colleagues who have the daily task of working with 'difficult clients'. Having 'lived' Kagan Structures Gavin is well aware of the enormous difference Kagan Cooperative Structures make to learning for Teachers and students. Laurie Kagan is in high demand as a presenter worldwide. Her presentations are dynamic events—participants discover the power of simple instructional strategies to use as part of any lesson. Laurie is the author of twelve popular books for teachers and trainers including Multiple Intelligences: Structures and Activities, Teambuilding, and Classbuilding. Her book, Dynamic Trainer, is the single most comprehensive trainer resource and is the basis for her much sought workshop: The Dynamic Trainer.

Laurie has developed popular learning games and structures that are used around the globe. As the former Director of Elementary Education for the State of Nevada, Laurie is presently Director of Kagan Professional Development. Dr. Spencer Kagan is an internationally acclaimed researcher, presenter and author of over 100 books, chapters, and scientific journal articles. He is a former clinical psychologist and full professor of psychology and education at the University of California. He is the principal author of the single most comprehensive book for educators in each of four fields: cooperative learning, multiple intelligences, classroom discipline, and classroom energizers. His instructional strategies are used in teacher training institutes in many countries.

Dr. Kagan provides workshops and keynotes in over twenty countries and his books are translated into many languages. Jenny Mosley’s approach to raising self-esteem, promoting positive behaviour, encouraging supported self-discipline, and creating respectful, co-operative learning environments has been encapsulated in her Quality Circle Time model. The approach is powerful because it can unite every member of the educational community. The aim of ‘respecting others’ informs the ethos of the workplace and the quality of relationships within it. Jenny Mosley is well known internationally and nationally, and is in great demand for her inspiring talks, lectures and workshops. Her books and resources have received wide and enthusiastic acclaim. She leads a popular, successful consultancy company that provides unique in-service training and team-building for teachers, health workers, interagency partnerships, support staff, lunchtime supervisors, parents and children.

Her pioneering work in playgrounds has been featured on Just One Chance, BBC, (1991) and has led to many exciting playground projects. For 15 years Jenny taught on the M-Ed programme at Bristol University, focusing on ‘Self Esteem’ ‘Circle Time’ and ‘Creative Arts in Therapy.’ She continues to run training days for SENJIT (London University). Jenny also runs training days in London for midday supervisors and TA’s on how to create happier lunchtimes.

Jenny wrote the circletime guidance for the Primary and Secondary National Strategy’s Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning toolkits (SEAL) Due to her commitment to purposeful play she was a member of the QCA Physical Education and School Sports (PESS) Steering Committee. She has also written the EYSF’s circle time guidance for SEAD (Social & Emotional Aspects of Development).

Fin O’Regan is a former science teacher and has taught both in the UK and the USA.

He was the Headteacher of the Centre Academy from 1996 -2002 Centre Academy was the London branch of a number of specialist schools for children with ADHD and co-morbidities based in Florida USA.

He is currently a Behaviour and Learning Consultant and Trainer for a number of organisations both nationally and internationally and is an associate lecturer for Leicester University, the National Association of Special Needs and the Institute of Education.

He is currently the Chairperson of the European ADHD Awareness Taskforce and an Education Consultant for ADDISS.

He has written a number of books and published articles on the subject of Behaviour and Learning issues and his 10th book entitled” ADHD: Learning and Behaviour Management” is due for publication in early 2011.
